Louisville, Ky (August 2, 2025): Happy Derby! We just wanted to make you aware of a NEW exciting fashion exhibit that just unveiled at the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs this past week. The Kentucky Derby Museum, 704 Central Ave., in Louisville, opened its newest exhibit, Derby Fashion, on July 31. This jacket below was donated to the museum by musician and Kentucky native JD Shelburne.

Kentucky Native and Country Music Star JD Shelburne has been a long part of Kentucky Derby traditions throughout the years. Shelburne has attended nearly 15 Kentucky Oaks and Derby’s, headlined some of the most prestigious parties and concerts held by the Derby festival including over 10 appearances at the annual Chow wagon, rode in the Pegasus Parade as a Celebrity Guest, along with walking many red carpets at Churchill Downs mingling with some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities. Shelburne is a frequent guest of Unbridled Eve Derby Gala and even proposed to his wife Amy on the red carpet at the 2016 Kentucky Derby. Shelburne, a Taylorsville, KY native is no stranger to success and appearances at the Derby museum, as this will be his 3rd feature inside the historic museum on display. We are so honored to be a part of this “Derby Fashion” Exhibit – Shelburne’s most cherished characteristic around the first Saturday in May. From the Grand Ole Opry stage to the Derby Museum, we invite you to attend and see the 2025 custom painted jacket worn by Shelburne on this years red carpet!
