NASHVILLE, TN (December 11th, 2025): Nationally acclaimed recording artist J.D. Shelburne is heading home for the holidays, and the State Theater is one of his first stops.
“One of my most exciting things I get to do is come home for the holidays, and when I get to put on a concert locally, it’s just icing on the cake,” Shelburne said. “Playing in E’town on Dec. 11 will be an exciting night.”
Growing up in Taylorsville, Shelburne looks forward to sharing some of his favorite songs of the season with local fans.
“I grew up loving all the Christmas classic songs and to now be able to perform these in my own unique way with my band was always one of my goals as an artist,” Shelburne said. “There is just something special about Christmas songs and performing those live.”
Leaving his audience “filled with the Christmas spirit” is Shelburne’s primary goal.
“This won’t really be like any other JD Shelburne show; it’s more of us playing these Christmas songs jazz style, mixed with a slight country blend,” Shelburne said. “We will be there to tell some stories and play all my favorite Christmas classics.”
Everyone is encouraged to bring their children to the concert.
“I hear that Santa Claus just might show up, too. We have put in a special request to the North Pole,” Shelburne said.
The Christmas concert wraps up one of Shelburne’s most successful years in the recording industry.
“It’s been one of the biggest years of my career — from making my Grand Ole Opry debut in July to performing at the Country Music Hall of Fame and over 150 shows this touring year, recording a brand new album that reached No. 28 on the Top Country Album iTunes Chart to releasing my own Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey in over 50 stores in my home state and even right there in Elizabethtown,” Shelburne said.
Shelburne said he is humbled by all the great things happening in his life.
“I owe it all to the good Lord and all my fans for standing by my side all these years supporting my songs,” Shelburne said.
Shelburne plans to kick off the concert with a big surprise.
“I have a really big announcement to make that will happen right before the show,” Shelburne said. “I recorded a Christmas song, ‘Silver Bells,’ with Grammy Award winner and Crystal Gayle.”
J.D. Shelburne Home for the Holidays concert begins at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at the State Theater in Elizabethtown. Tickets range from $25 to $55 and can be purchased at thestate270.org.
