CHARLESTOWN, IN. (June 19, 2026) – Kentucky country artist JD Shelburne made a memorable return to Charlestown Founders Fest, performing at the beloved event for the first time since 2018 and delivering an unforgettable evening to a packed town square.

With one of the most enthusiastic crowds of the festival, fans filled downtown Charlestown, singing along to Shelburne’s songs, sporting JD Shelburne shirts and hats, and showing their support throughout the night.

“Tonight was special,” Shelburne said. “Seeing the square filled with fans, hearing everyone sing along and feeling that energy reminded me why I love doing this. Charlestown has always been good to me, and it meant a lot to be back. I don’t play in that area often enough but it’s becoming one of my favorite places to draw a crowd in Indiana.”

Shelburne expressed his gratitude to Mayor Treva Hodges, Carrie Basham, and the entire Founders Fest staff for their hospitality and first-class treatment throughout the weekend.

“Thank you for taking amazing care of us, feeding us, arranging hotels and making our entire team feel welcome,” Shelburne said. “We truly appreciate everything you did.”

The night was made even more meaningful with Shelburne’s parents in attendance and his legion of fans creating an atmosphere that the Kentucky native won’t soon forget.

Shelburne also praised his road crew and band, calling them “some of the best in the business,” as the tour continues with the singer-songwriter returning to Nashville before heading to more dates across the region and eastern part of the US.

After returning to Founders Fest from 2018, JD Shelburne’s return proved to be a celebration of great music, loyal fans and the strong community spirit that makes Charlestown one of the highlights of the summer concert season.
