NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 28, 2023) – Country crooner JD Shelburne has released his sixth studio album, Neon Hallelujah, available today on all digital platforms. Co-produced by Shelburne with Mike Proctor, Bart Bush, and Maks Gabriel, the 14-track project features previously released tunes like title track “Neon Hallelujah,” upbeat, devil-may-care “That Devil In Me,” and Shelburne’s rendition of classic hymn “Amazing Grace” (featuring 3x GRAMMY® Award-winning quartet, The Oak Ridge Boys), as well as several new songs, like the drifty, mid-tempo album opener “Cars & Trucks,” which harbors a deeper “where are we all headed in life” context, celebratory “Raise One Up,” and anthemic summer tune “Let Love Down.”

“It’s hard to believe that I have just finished my sixth studio album,” said Shelburne of the project. “I moved to Nashville in 2008 with a dream and some songs. I had no idea how far I could go or what goals I would achieve but I knew I had to work hard and keep showing up. I have worked for months on new music starting in early 2022, finding great songs, writing, and producing, and I am so proud of this album! I have grown as an artist and the songs I have picked for this album have been written by some of Nashville’s most successful writers – all of whom I’m fortunate to call friends. Years of crafting my music, finding ways to connect with people in the industry, playing countless shows on the road and meeting fans is really starting to pay off. I am so grateful and excited to finally put Neon Hallelujah out into the world!”

Neon Hallelujah has already seen promising reviews from some of country music’s biggest stars:

“‘Neon Hallelujah’ is an album that takes me back to my “Storms of Life”—a collection of songs that were the stories of our lives. JD Shelburne pours out his passion for family, faith, farm-life, and friendship in the ‘grooves’ of this one!  It takes you down the country backroads to the tobacco fields of Taylorsville, KY, where a young talent was being honed. Not only a great singer, songwriter, and entertainer; but JD is kind, charismatic, and captivating in person.  Love the man…enjoy his music!

– 7x GRAMMY® Award Winner and Country Music Hall of Fame Member Randy Travis

“Shelburne has been honing his craft for a long time now and I believe this project will launch him into a whole new level of success…And big time success is what this guy deserves…He is the real deal.”

– 5x GRAMMY® Award Winner and Country Music Hall of Fame Member Joe Bonsall (The Oak Ridge Boys)

“Our new friend JD Shelburne is one of the hardest working acts in country music, and with his new album ‘Neon Hallelujah,’ he is poised to take center stage. You’ll want to be in the front row for this one!”

– CMA and ACM Award Winner Joe Smyth (Sawyer Brown)

Recently featured on Circle All Access hit show The Southern Weekend, Shelburne will return to his hometown of Taylorsville, Ky. tomorrow (7/29) to take the stage on the town’s Main Street for a free album release show. This will be his sixth hometown album release show – his last album release show in 2021 drew a record 7,000 people.
