NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 9th, 2025) 17 years ago this week, my parents and I packed a U-Haul full of dreams and my belongings and moved to Nashville to chase country music stardom. I had no idea what was ahead or if I could even reach those goals back in 2008. Hard work, determination and thousands of fans made it all possible. The rewards from this business have given my family and I a wonderful life. We still have goals to reach, and every year we keep building my brand and meeting all of you. I still love it. I still enjoy what each and every day brings in this business. Thank you to all who support us and continue to listen to my music daily. I think back to all I have done and sometimes wonder how it all happened, but I know exactly how it did: through my faith in God and hard work. It’s been an exciting ride.
From the City of Taylorsville, where I started in 2003, to a top-ten album on iTunes, 6 albums and another record on the way, a recording and performance with The Legendary Oak Ridge Boys, features on CMT, Great American Country, NBC, People Magazine, a show with iconic ZZ Top, features online, in museums, in thousands of articles, awards and over 3,000 live performances to date, guess you can say I’m proud. Thousands of opportunities have led to many friendships. I’ve met so many people along the way who have changed my life. What a ride it has been, and I will share it all in a book in the next few years.
If you’re reading this, you had a part in helping me get here. Thank you to country radio and all the outlets who have played my music. To the agents, events and thousands of venues who have booked me, the PR firms that have promoted me, songwriters, producers, and all the musicians who have played and who currently play for me, and the people who have worked for me in some fashion….thank you, it’s been a great ride. I’ve got a few more goals to obtain. Cheers, y’all. Nothing happens without YOU, the fans. Thank you. My wife, son, and I say a sincere thank you. See you at a show in 2025!
Thank you, JD Shelburne.
